In November 2016 the government ratified the Paris agreement, showing ambition with its climate goals and legislation. In 2017 the government will publish a carbon plan and an industrial strategy; two major long term plans on the future of low carbon policy and investment. Our November 2016 report, produced in conjunction with CAFOD, Christian Aid, Greenpeace, RSPB and WWF set out priorities for these plans, to include:
• Ambition on low carbon power
• Rethinking low carbon heat policy
• Creating a market for innovation in low carbon transport
We also held two separate roundtables with Labour and Conservative MPs to discuss priorities for the government’s climate strategy.
