Lord Turner 3Green Alliance debate
Climate change policy: the way forward

8 December 2008

An audience of 250 came to hear Adair Turner, chair of the Committee on Climate Change, speak at Green Alliance's debate at the Institute of Directors on 8 December 2008.

He focused on the key challenges arising from the climate change committee's report, including the positive economic case for action by government and the costs and benefits of businesses and individuals. Lord Turner made a compelling case for an ambitious response from government to the committee's report.

Respondents to the speech were Paul Ekins professor of energy and environment policy at Kings College and John Reizenstein, managing director of the corporate and markets division at The Co-operative Financial Services.

The panel of speakers then took questions from the audience.
