This document reports on Green Alliance's three-year project to produce environmental performance indicators for the waste management sector. The indicators have been endorsed by eleven waste companies, as well as by the Environmental Services Association, the Institute of Wastes Management, Friends of the Earth and Waste Watch.

The final publication includes:

details of the process used to develop the indicators;
background information about putting the indicators into use;
the commitments made by waste management companies;
