Measuring resource productivity - a background paper by David Pearce
This paper was drafted to inform debate at a joint Green Alliance and Department of Trade and Industry conference, Revolutionising resource use: measuring radical improvements in resource productivity, February 2001.
The conference's aim was to take forward collective thinking on how resource productivity goals might be expressed, and progress measured, at both the national, economy-wide level as well as within individual companies. This paper outlines some of the issues that arise in relation to developing indicators.
