Switching the UK on to heat pumps

Summary

Heat is responsible for a third of carbon emissions and around half the energy we use in the UK. Whilst there is a range of views about how to achieve the deep cuts needed in carbon emissions from heating, all future scenarios indicate there will have to be a significant rise in the uptake of heat pumps.

Our heat pumps presentation shows that government needs to do more than providing financial incentives to householders and the non-domestic sector. Government needs to use clever regulation and improve the reputation of heat pumps to achieve the required roll out of millions of them across the UK.
