Getting EU climate and energy policy on track: Exploring a strong EU 2030 climate and energy package
This slide presentation looks at different options for the EU's 2030 climate and energy policy package, being determined in 2014, and their relative strengths and weaknesses.
As the slides demonstrate, we conclude that the new package must contain three important elements to be successful: a strong greenhouse gas emission reduction target of 50 per cent from 1990 levels, greater regulation of power stations and heat to drive down emissions and reduce costs, and more pan-European planning and regulation of vital infrastructure.
